Installation - EVCC Mounting

These instructions assume the EVCC will be mounted to a ClipperCreek ProMountDuo PMD-10T pedestal.

This section describes the steps necessary mount the EVCC to the pedestal via 4 stainless steel mounting screws.

WARNING: Be sure to turn off the circuit breaker that powers the charger source power cables. Not doing so could result in electrical shock and serous injury or death.

Follow These Steps

Follow the steps below to mount the EVCC to the pedestal.

NOTE: Be sure to check with local code to unsure proper mounting distance from the ground to the bottom of the EVCC and wiring whip.
1
Using the Phillips-head screwdriver, unscrew the aluminum mounting plate from the back of the EVCC. It can now be used as a template for the mounting screw holes on the pedestal.

Determining the desired distance from the ground to the bottom of the EVCC to mount the unit. Using the pencil and level, draw a horizontal line at that location on the desired side of the pedestal. Align, with one hand, the bottom of the mounting plate on the previously drawn horizontal line centered to the pedestal. Using the other hand and the pencil, mark a circular pattern within the tear-drop holes of the mounting plate on the pedestal where the mounting screw holes should be drilled.

NOTE: the horizontal distance between the screw holes should be 60mm, while the vertical distance should be 170.5mm.
2
Using the drill and a bit that is slightly smaller in diameter than the stainless steel mounting screw thread, carefully drill out the holes on the pedestal.

WARNING: Be sure not to allow the drill bit to touch any wires inside the pedestal while drilling.

Using the Philips-head screw driver, screw in each of the 4 mounting screws into the holes. Be sure to leave about a 1/4 inch gap between the screw head and the pedestal.
3
Re-attach the mounting plate to the back of the EVCC. Be sure not to tighten the screws too tight where they will bend the aluminum. Now mount the EVCC to the pedestal by inserting the plate over the screw heads into the larger portion of the teardrop openings. Then, slide the EVCC downward to fasten the unit securely.

If the unit is too loose, remove the device and tighten the screws a bit more and try again.
